This article is my example of a mission statement that I would develop if I was CEO of one of Australia's four large banks.



Mission Statement - XXX bank


1. Our mission is to provide banking services to retail customers, businesses, corporations and governments.


2. Our aim is to make Australian banking a respected and core activity in countries around the world.


3. We will work to ensure that we have banking operations in at least 80% of countries.


4. We recognise customer deposits are the customer's money, not the bank's money. We will ensure that our contracts reflect this.


5. We will ensure a positive work environment for our employees including good salaries and conditions.


6. We will work to be a supportive business within the communities in which we operate.


7. We will not stray outside our code business activity, specifically into insurance, investment management etc.


8. Our aim is for our business to succeed and thrive for hundereds of years into the future.
